The Annual Vianney Cup Soccer Tournament was hosted by Theological College this year, on September 22nd, during a providential respite from days of rain that would have otherwise compromised this long-anticipated match of wits, skill, and stamina. Supported by excited faculty, staff, friends, and family, the heated matches between seminarians at St. Charles Borromeo (Wynnewood, PA), St. Mary’s (Baltimore), Mount Saint Mary’s (Emmitsburg, MD), and Theological College were hard won. In its first game, Theological College was victorious in a 1-0 win after facing off with St. Mary’s, but fell in a tough 0-1 competition against the Mount Saint Mary’s team — the champions of this year’s tournament. The day was enjoyed with fraternal good spirit, beginning with Mass celebrated by Most Rev. Timothy C. Senior, Rector of St. Charles, with a lunch break at TC and convivial dinner after the final match.
