Eight acolytes and sixteen lectors were instituted during the Institution of Ministries Mass at Theological College this month.

Theological College hosted 90 guests for the 2020 March for Life demonstration in Washington, DC., on January 24th, and almost the entire seminary population turned out on Congressional Avenue for this annual walk to the Supreme Court.

The TC community celebrated the end-of-semester in festive fashion, beginning with a late-afternoon Mass, followed by a generous reception and dinner banquet and ending with the hilarious “New Men Show” in Viéban Hall.

On November 12, 2019, more than 20 American bishops accepted Theological College’s breakfast invitation at the USCCB Fall General Assembly in Baltimore. The bishops were joined by as many seminarians, some of whom were from their dioceses. Bishop Robert Barron offered encouragement to TC’s podcasting seminarians during the gathering!

Theological College’s annual Alumni Day reunion was once again a joyful gathering of graduates, with this year’s class representation ranging back to the Basselin Class of 1956, right up to the Class of 2019, including some of the newly ordained priests now in residence in Providence Hall.

For the 2019-20 formation year at Theological College and The Catholic University of America, TC welcomed 18 new seminarians from 12 different dioceses, as well as eight student priests who would be the first ever to live in the new priests residence in Providence Hall, dedicated during orientation week by Very Rev. John Kemper, P.S.S.

After three years of dynamic service as Vice-Rector of Theological College, Rev. Hy Nguyen has been appointed Rector of Assumption Seminary. Theological College’s Rev. Dominic Ciriaco will assume the Vice-Rector role when the seminarians return to TC in a few weeks.

On June 15, 2019, three Theological College seminarians were ordained to the priesthood of Jesus Christ in the company of seven other Archdiocese of Washington seminarians.

Every two years, the Sulpician Institute for Seminary Formators offers an eight-day education program for those in seminary formation ministry, following the guidelines of Pastored Dabo Vobis and the most recent PPF.
